Join us October 16-18, 2009 in Richmond, Virginia for Jammin' on the James, a weekend of Lindy Hop workshops and dancing. For our seventh year we are proud to bring back Naomi Uyama & Peter Strom and Nina Gilkenson & Mike Faltesek to teach workshops on Saturday and Sunday. We will have workshops at the beginner, intermediate, and for the first time this year, we'll have two advanced level workshops. We'll also be focusing on our local musical talent for our three main dances and have DJs spinning great tunes for late night dancing. All workshops and evening dances will be held at the intimate and historic Lewis Ginter Recreation Center. Registration will open later this month.

Get all of the details at www.jamminonthejames.com.

See you in Richmond in October!

Anyone who hasn't gone to Jammin' on the James, you have to go! It is SO FUN! They always have a really nice crowed and great classes. I only wish that it wasn't so far away else I would go.

I went to this for the first time last year, and it was one of the best workshop weekends I've ever been to. I hope we get a group going this year!

Wish that I could go, but EBC is using up my request for October. :(

I'll go to this as long as we have a group going. It's one of the cheaper events we swing dancers go to.

Hey! I'm most definitely going to this. Mike and Nina are some of my favorite teachers--he's nuts and so is she. Peter and Naomi are just so smooth and fantastic dancers.

This was a lot of fun last year, and should be just as fantastic this year!

Hey guys! I'm glad you all are getting excited about Jammin'! And here's some even MORE exciting news...
    REGISTRATION IS OPEN!

Go now and sign up as the early bird prices will only be good until midnight on September 30th. Another reason not to delay is that registration may close before the big weekend due to the limited size of our venue and our desire to maintain Jammin' as an intimate Lindy learning experience. Also for you beginners out there, please keep in mind that the Beginner Track is limited to 10 leads and 10 follows, so register early!

Tell all of your friends and see you in Richmond in October!

    (sent to the listserv)

    Hey Swing Kids,

    www.jamminonthejames.com/

If you signed up and going, email me asap, as I'm trying to figure out housing (and eventually carpooling). Any extra details such as you can/will/prefer/prefer not/etc drive or already have housing, and who you're staying with (friend, parents, doghouse, etc), would be extremely helpful.

We have offers from our Tech students/alumni dancers for housing and need our numbers. And just as a precaution, request for housing on your registration. It's always easier to back out at the last minute (while not encouraged) rather than scrambling last minute to find housing.

Housings are limited, so it'll most likely be first come first serve!
