Do I have to know how to swing?

Nope! Before each of our dances there is a one hour lesson where you will be taught the basic steps. If you would like to advance your skills, we also offer beginning lessons every Sunday for a consecutive 6 week period. We will also have workshops from time to time for those swing aficionados out there!

Do I have to have a partner?

Not at all! Dances are a great way to meet new people, both young and old! Many people come without a partner and just dance with whoever happens to be close by.

What happens if I have two left feet?

We have a very talented in-house surgeon to solve that problem! Well, not really, but we DO have an experienced staff of teachers who can get you sizzlin' in no time! We're all here to learn and everyone starts from the beginning.

How do I become a member?

You can become a member at any of the dances. Membership is $10/year, $5/semester for students. Members receive discounts at dances and workshops. Dues and admissions generate working capital to rent ballrooms and equipment, and to pay bands for our monthly live music dances.

What is a swing swap?

Our dances to recorded music are informal events where you are invited to bring your own music and teach each other (swap) your favorite dance steps. All of our dances are smoke and alcohol free and are open to people of all ages and experience levels. No partner is required!
